We took in a 2 year old lab last friday from some people that were going to dump him at the shelter. He is a great dog but he poops like 4 times a day. We do not know what food he was on. We are feeding him Purina Fit & trim 2x a day with the amount recommended on the bag for his weight.

Ok I have never used them we only go bush walking.
I have seen someone with a smaller dog put the bag and poop in their pocket.
What do you do with a big dog poop, too big for your pocket??
Do you just carry it around until you find a bin?

My dog pooped in someone’s yard and the guy yelled at me and I didn’t have another bag with me to scoop up the turds, so I picked it up with napkins and it got all over my hands because it leaked through the napkins. Both of my hands smell like dog poop. I cut my finger nails because I got poop under them. The smell still remains though. How do I get the smell out?

So, what would you do if your neighbor allows their dog to constantly use your grass lawn as a bathroom for poop, and never considerate enough to pick it up themselves? And say you don’t have a dog yourself, so you maintain your lawn to make it look nice….and their yard is nothing but rocks….
Would you:
A: Keep picking it up and throwing it away yourself
B: Pick it up one last time, and place it in a bag and drop it off at their doorstep?
C: Say something to them in a nice courtesy way? (even though you shouldn’t have to)
D: Pick it up and toss it over to their yard?
Just taking a poll as to how many people choose which to do in this type of situation…..answer honestly……

I see dog owners pick up their pet’s poop with a plastic bag. As far as I know, it’s always been done like this.
My question is, if there was a device that made it easier for you to pick up your pet’s poop, would you be interested? Do you think there’s a need for such a product? How much would you be willing to pay for something like that?

From what I have read, for almost all “biodegradable” poop bags, you have to recycle them or compost them. Are there any that will biodegrade if simply thrown out into the garbage dump? My city does not have recycling and I reallly don’t want to compost dog poop due to the fact that I’d continually have to buy those enzymes, and I hate things that have to be replaced/rebought more than once a year(filters, batteries..).. Money vaccuums if you ask me.
True, poop bags are money vaccuums, but why put a money vaccuum on top of a money vaccuum, right? Plus poop bags are required by law. I find the idea of carrying a coffee can around on a walk awkward, but possible if you’re creative.

I don’t i just use my hose and wash it off. Is this o.k.? I do this cause I don’t want to put more plastic bags out there in the environment. WHat do you do?
Also it annoys me when I see someone’s dog poop and they don’t bother to pick it up. Is anyone else bothered?

we just moved into a very nice apartment complex 1 month ago…we have a small beagle/wiener dog mix…in our building of 8 apts there are 2 other buildings with dogs and one apartment that has had visiters that bring their dogs on the weekend…a week ago we got a warning from the apartment complex manager that we weren’t cleaning up our dog poop…since we have moved in we have picked up our dog’s poop 100 percent of the time…in fact, when i first moved in i went around and picked up a full garbage bag full of the wonderful stuff that was obviously not from my dog…also, i have picked up a half bag of other dogs poop 2 weeks later…i talked to the apartment manager and told her that we are 100 percent compliant in picking up after our dog…she said that she would keep an eye out to see if she would see anyone not picking theirs up…the question is-how can we get blamed for something we are not doing and how do we not get blamed for it in the future so that we do not risk being kicked out of our apartment?thank you in advance for any advice…

Why don’t they bring a bag with them and pick it up? I don’t let my family members shit in the neighbors yard. Why do people let their family dog shit in mine?
Despite what one guy said…dog poop is not good for your yard and does not fertilize the soil. It leaves dead spots after you pick it up and I don’t care what they did in the 30’s.
