dog poop bags

I don’t have a yard to clean up every so often. I have to walk my dog and pick it up as he drops it. Right now I use plastic bags, which makes me feel okay because at least I’m giving them a second use after the grocery store, but how can I take plastic bags out of my life completely and still have a safe and clean way to pick up after my dog (as in, I’m not going to have a coffee can full of poop by my front door)? Any ideas? The greener the better.

I’m almost 9 weeks pregnant and was wondering if cleaning after your dogs poop can be bad?

dog waste bags

I have rescently descided to jump on the “green” bandwagon and I’m trying to reduce the amount of waste I use. I have stopped using plastic bags when grocery shopping, in favour of reusable baskets and canvas bags (paper bags are not avail. here).
My problem is, I have a dog, I walk her 3 times a day and she does #2 every time. We live in an appartment building so we pick up after the dog eveery time we walk her. We have started getting plastic bags from friends because we never have any in our house any more.

My question is, does anyone know any alternative method of scooping after my dog that does not involve plastic bags and can be desposed of in public bins (generally old barrels)? The only thing I can think of using is one of those scoopers (like a shovel) but I have nowhere to keep it in my apartment and it’s not practical to carry.

dog poop bags

I don’t i just use my hose and wash it off. Is this o.k.? I do this cause I don’t want to put more plastic bags out there in the environment. WHat do you do?
Also it annoys me when I see someone’s dog poop and they don’t bother to pick it up. Is anyone else bothered?

I need a dog poop scoop solution for when on walks. What’s a good product to buy for this in Australia?

dog poop bags

I can’t handle plastic bags, I want something where my hands won’t get near the poop, and where I preferably won’t smell it either!

It would be good if refills didn’t cost too much for the items you suggest too.

Thanks heaps for your help!!!
I need products that are available in Australia… (so it would be great if Aussies would answer!) Thanks!

dog poop bags

My boxer dog eats everything he sees. If we leave a sock on the floor he eats it and swallows it. He has eaten many different clothing articles, plastic bags, and so forth. Luckly he has pooped the items out safely. Is this common for boxers and how do you stop it.

Also my boxer runs out the door when he gets a chance. He will run away from us and try to get us to chase him. It takes us at least 45 minutes to catch him. How can we get him to come when he is called.

Is it common for a boxer to foam at the mouth when he runs around and becomes excited.

If plastic bags are banned, what will we use to pick up dog poop with?

Seriously – what’s better for poop scooping than a supermarket bag? What will we have, paper bags? Washable bags (ugg, very hygenic)?

Millions of plastic bags used to pick up dog waste pollute the earth each year and stick around for many many years. But we cant leave dog waste everywhere as this is unsanitary and not socially acceptable. So what to do with the waste?

I just read that Flushadoo bags are ‘green-’ or ‘environmentally friendly doggy poop bags that you can flush down the toilet, and thus keep plastic bags and waste from filling up our landfills. (www.flushadoo.com). I don’t know if this is true or not. Do any of you dog-owners have any experience with Flushadoo poop bags?
